Your AirPods will need to have a MagSafe Charging Case or a Wireless Charging Case to be compatible and they also must have a light on the front of the case also, this indicates that the case is charging. , you can check this at the links below:

If you have the correct case and your AirPods are still not charging please make sure you are using our 18W Quick Charge plug to power the PowerBase 2.
